Banking expert Alexandra Johnson takes helm at Nium

Hyderabad: Nium, a leader in real-time cross-border payments, announced the appointment of Alexandra Johnson as its first Chief Payments Officer. In this new role, Johnson will work closely with partners across the payments ecosystem, leading Nium’s Global Banking and Payment Operations teams under the direction of Prajit Nanu, Co-Founder and CEO of Nium.
As Chief Payments Officer, Johnson will oversee strategy and day-to-day activities for Nium’s payments network team, focusing on managing and expanding the network while adhering to global regulatory policies. She will collaborate with the Risk and Compliance teams to enhance frameworks and develop new relationships to strengthen Nium’s financial network.
Johnson’s expertise in banking and payments will support Nium’s global and vertical business growth.

Before joining Nium, Johnson served as Head of New Product Development & Innovation in Global Transaction Services (GTS) at Bank of America, where she led a team exploring new technologies to improve treasury solutions. Before that, she led Global Go-to-Market, Commercialization, and Partnerships at JP Morgan for its foreign exchange product. Johnson also led network implementation and strategy at Hyperwallet, a PayPal subsidiary. She holds an MBA from George Washington University and dual bachelor's degrees from Michigan State University.
